- We have routine discussions with our employees to keep them updated on the current situation and steps needed to ensure their safety and that of our clients.
- As a precautionary step, we have installed hand sanitizer stations in our office, and we are conducting enhanced cleaning regularly.
- Our trucks and equipment are being cleaned and sanitized on a daily basis to ensure the safety of our customers and employees.
- Regular reminders to practice good hygiene with frequent hand washing.
- Teams are instructed to maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet of space from each other.
- Our teams are being checked daily and we have implemented the usage of sanitizers in each of our trucks and gloves as a protection gear.
- If you have the option to postpone the move, it is best to push it back until after the ‘shelter-in-place’ has been lifted. It is recommended that individuals in high-risk groups such as seniors above 60 and anyone with pre-existing respiratory or cardiovascular conditions should put off their move if possible as a precautionary measure.
- During an outbreak, it is highly recommended that you only use new packing materials and not use free or recycled moving boxes. Most viruses can lives in cardboard boxes for as much as 24hours, so it is best to not pick up used boxes. It is okay to use boxes that you have in your home.
- If there are any changes to your moving plans, be sure to inform your moving company sooner than later. During these unprecedented times, things can change quickly and you might need help with packing your household or hauling service etc. Contact your moving company directly and keep an open communication in order to ensure a smooth moving experience.
- Be sure to inform your movers if you or your family members have any flu like symptoms or if you need to cancel your move for other reasons.
- It is good to ask about the company’s policy on rescheduling and cancellation prior to making a reservation. With ‘shelter-in-place’ in effect, the bright side is that you have more time to pack and organize your home prior to your move.
Moving is a great time to de-clutter and to get rid of unwanted things. With some of the donation places closed, if you plan on making donations, be sure to call and check if they are accepting items before you drop by.
