Plates

Plates are best packed on their ends. Wrap each plate in a sheet of paper to prevent scratches from rubbing. Line them standing next to each other. Once a layer of plates have been packed, fill the dish pack with more crushed paper and start another layer, until the box is full.

Glasses

When packing glasses make sure to wrap each glass in paper. This will prevent any rubbing or chips that can result from shifting around in transport. When packing up your kitchen, stack the glasses in the carton standing up.

Silverware

Silverware often comes in a plastic tray which allows you to keep all the utensils separate. Simply take a few pieces of paper and tape them overtop the tray before placing inside a box.

Pots and Pans

These can go in a larger box. Place the cookware on a packing paper and fold one corner of paper at a time to the center. Then reinforce any pots by stuffing packing paper inside the pot.

Plastic containers and small miscellaneous items

Due to the fact that these are quite light, you can pack them in larger boxes if you have a lot of it. They can go in small boxes if you don’t have too many of them.

Small appliances

For small appliances, they can be placed in a larger box, or in the original box they came in, if available. Each appliance should be wrapped in paper, and also taped to ensure that the paper doesn’t fall off. All these kitchen packing tips will ensure you for a safe move.
